Ralph Lauren To Dress Olympic Athletes

Polo by Ralph Lauren has signed on to design the official clothing for the US Olympic athletes for the summer 2008 Beijing Olympics.



Roots, a Canadian clothing company, has declined the offer to design the clothes for the US Olympic team after being the official outfitters for the past three Olympic games. After disagreements with the clothing designs and the Tibetan human rights protests, Roots wants no part in the Olympics this year.

Polo by Ralph Lauren will release the designs on August 8th.

Gucci Designs Olympics Accessories Line

Frida Giannini for Gucci has decided to design an accessories line for the summer Olympics in Beijing, called the 8-8-2008 Limited Edition. The line is comprised of 8 accessories with the main piece being a digital, I Gucci watch priced at $ 1,415.

The accessories line will only be available in Asian Gucci stores on August 8, 2008. The watch will be available worldwide, but if you want to get your hands on the other 7 items, you better plan a trip to China.
