Isaac Mizrahi, Mossimo, and Liz Lange, the designers for Target, staged a fashion show in New York City's Grand Central Station. One major thing missing in this show was the models. Instead of models, the show contained faceless holograms in high definition, wearing the holiday collection.
Mizrahi's comments on the show stated, "''A show like this spreads the mission statement that fashion should be democratic. It allows someone to see the clothes and envision themselves in it. Models can be intimidating."
The Model-less Fashion Show featured men's, women's, bridal and maternity collections from Bowie by Keanan Duffty, Erin Fetherston, Isaac Mizrahi, Liz Lange and Mossimo as well as jewelry, handbags and shoes from Dominique Cohen and HOLLYWOULD.
This is the first time a hologram fashion show has taken place with no models. The model-less show was available for everyone to see for free.
According to Target's vice president, Trish Adams, the faceless holograms make the clothes the star of the show instead of iconic models.
