Barbie By David Dixon Adds A Touch Of Pink To Fashion Week

David Dixon does Barbie again. The collection had some cute skirts and dresses which I would wear. Ken looked super cute in his bow ties and checks! I would have never thought to pair socks with pumps. Why do I look so silly in the change rooms trying on dresses with my socks on and these models look fantastic doing the same thing on the runway?

David Dixon Searches For The Exotic

The David Dixon show at Toronto Fashion Week started out with some exotic music and a story of a woman searching for the beauty and femininity from far away lands like the gardens in Babylon. With this inspiring story we failed to see some awe inspiring clothes, but the collection was pretty.

The color scheme was black, white, bright blue, and a glam yellow (oh...and a few glittery silver pieces). The models walked in very high heels, in strapless dresses, and short blazers with pencil skirts.

Waiting for the show was the worst part, Fashion Week in Toronto was poorly organized this year, and people were actually pushing to get into the show! Not exactly a classy event. It was so hot in there that between David Dixon and Barbie by David Dixon, they gave out free beer....that made everything better!

Generous Ways To Shop During Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and what better way to show your support than to wear something pink. But not only wear something pink, when you buy some of these products a percentage of the sales goes to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

We love this beautiful ribbon bracelet available at Anne Taylor Loft. The bracelet was designed by Lisa Salzer and $5 of the $24.50 that this bracelet costs goes to BCRF.

Lacoste has this adorable pink polo for $85.00, and 10% of the proceeds goes to BCRF.

Keds was very generous with their pink limited edition ribbon champion sneakers. 100% of the sales goes to BCRF.

Coach has a beautiful Brooke satchel in a great color. 20% of the $358.00 goes to BCRF.

Dennis Basso - A Glass of Absinthe Anyone?

Dennis Basso created a genius collection for New York Fashion Week this year inspired by Parisian impressionist Edgar Degas. As we art history buffs know, Degas is known for his ballerina fetish (and wonderful taste in green liquor), so for the Basso's Spring '10 collection, we see cute ballerina like cocktail dresses! We love it! I know what I'm wearing for my next event (if I can find someone who copies this look).

Loving the mink bolero and the python bustier that turns into a floor length gown. The deep red lips with the clean makeup and side part. I may have to copy this look!

Ralph Lauren Answers Our Denim Dreams

The Ralph Lauren Spring '10 fashion show in Bryant Park was not something to be expected from the usual classic style. The inspiration for the collection was the Great Depression, which is fitting with all the talk of economy troubles.

The collection featured mostly denim to bring the worker and the farmer to life. We love the Denim suits with silk pants and the perfect accessory....the newsboy caps!
